Martina Vanda is a visual artist working mainly with Drawing;
including Paintings, Picture books, Ceramics and Video animations.

After her studies of literature and languages (English, French and Russian) she studies Illustration at the IED of Rome.
In 2000 she wins a one year scholarship for specialization at the ESAG Phenninguen of Paris.
From 2004 to 2012 she lives in Barcelona where she reaches The Art Factory La Escossessa and studies ceramics with Jeff Shapiro.

Her illustrations are presented in the most interesting events related to the world of contemporary illustration :
BIB Biennial of Bratislava 2011 , Bologna Illustrators exhibition 2012 2015 2016, CJBook Corea 2010; XII Biennial BCJEM, BIBF Beijin 2020.

As an author/illustrator she has published picture books in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and China. “Estela, grita muy fuerte!” sold 150,000 copies and won several prizes.

Since 2012 she directs TunnellingP, an independent publishing label to sell drawings, artprints, picture books, zines, ceramics and notebooks in the bookshops of Contemporary Art Museums such as Museo MAXXI, Museo Macro, Palaexpo, and Printed Matter ink of NY.

She collaborated with Museo MAXXI, ed. Feltrinelli, Agenzia Contrasto, Poste Italiane, Equilibri, Esperia, El Pais, Hamelin among others.

Her ceramics are presented in the showroom of Gervasoni1882, under the direction of Paola Navone.

She works as a visual artist with contemporary art galleris with solo/group shows where she install drawings, paintings and ceramics.

During last pandemic lock down, she has created a series of animations that have been projected in the patio of MAXXI 2020, and have been selected to the MIAMI New Media Felstival 2021.
